How we went from timer to SHAON

First, we cut the timer into two parts. Each part is presented in a separate case.

  • one part contains what must be accessible to you (settings and indicators)

  • the other part contains the rest of the electrical circuits

The box containing the settings and the display is attached to the refrigerator door by magnets.

The other box plugs in like a regular timer, or like an extension cord: the male plug to the wall, and the refrigerator to the female plug.

The two boxes are connected by click using a supplied RJ45 cable.

Here is a brief list of changes

  • The manual/automatic switch button is no longer available on the SHAON! It can automatically switch to automatic mode for Shabbat and holidays, and return to manual mode during the week.

  • The small indicator light is replaced by two LEDs

  • The time and cut-off times are set digitally using the 3 buttons and the display.

SHAON has many other advantages, which you will discover on the site.
